Abstract :

This study examines the effect of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) on infrastructure development in Ebonyi State, Nigeria, focusing on road infrastructure, solid mineral development, and housing development. With Nigeria's increasing infrastructure deficit, PPP has emerged as a strategic mechanism to mobilize private sector investment and expertise. The specific objectives of the study were to: (i) examine the effect of PPP on road infrastructure development in Ebonyi State; (ii) analyse the effect of PPP on solid mineral development; and (iii) determine the effect of PPP on housing development in the state. Using a descriptive survey design, data were collected from relevant stakeholders through structured questionnaires and analysed using inferential statistical tools. The findings revealed that PPP has a statistically significant and positive effect on all three sectors examined, especially in enhancing road connectivity, supporting mineral resource management, and improving access to housing. The study concludes that effective PPP frameworks can accelerate infrastructure delivery in Ebonyi State. It recommends stronger regulatory frameworks, transparent contractual agreements, and stakeholder collaboration to optimize PPP outcomes and foster sustainable infrastructure development across key sectors.
